Hi! I’m Claire Rees. I love helping people to tell their stories.

I’ve been a journalist since 2004, and I know what makes a good story. Everyone and every brand has a tale to tell – I help you to find yours and shout about it.

Who am I? I’m a journalist with bylines in Grazia, Vogue.co.uk and BuzzFeed – I learned my trade as a news reporter on papers in Newcastle Upon Tyne and the South Wales Valleys and spent almost a decade at Media Wales/Wales Online before going freelance.

I enjoyed three years as fashion editor at the Western Mail and as WM magazine editor – doing everything from reporting from London Fashion Week and interviewing celebrities, to styling photo shoots – before I left full-time journalism to set up my own business in 2013.

What do I do? I’m a Cardiff-based journalist and editor, a journalism lecturer (at Cardiff Metropolitan University), a PR, a copy writer and a sustainable personal fashion stylist.

(You can find my eco-styling tips and more at UpstyleClub on Instagram – new website coming soon…)

Here’s what some of my former bosses have said…

“Professional, poised and with perfectly-crafted prose, Claire is all you could ask for in a fashion and  lifestyle journalist,” says Ceri Gould, editor-in-chief, Trinity Mirror South East and Cambridge. “Her ideas are innovative and fresh and she executes them with admirable attention to detail. On top of all that, she is fun and never flustered.”

Tim Gordon, former editor, South Wales Echo, says: “Claire is a talented, creative and hard-working journalist who has a deft writing style and a can-do personality. She’s an ideas person who always gets the zeitgeist, keeping her work fresh and interesting for the times.”
